Pool construction in Gilbert

Gilbert yards are generous by East Valley standards. Lots in Val Vista Lakes, Seville, Morrison Ranch and Power Ranch have room for a freeform or geometric pool, a raised spa, a baja shelf and a full patio, and the older lots around the Heritage District and Agritopia often have more. Most are walled on three sides with a two-story neighbor on at least one, which decides where the equipment goes and which direction the finished photo can face. HOAs here mostly care about wall height, equipment screening and construction hours, and nearly every newer community has a gate we need the code for.

A straightforward Gilbert pool runs roughly two to three months from dig to plaster: layout and excavation, steel, plumbing and electrical, gunite, then tile and coping, decking, equipment set, plaster and fill. Monsoon season pushes gunite and plaster days around, and summer heat moves work to early morning. We do not chase any of those dates. We come on a schedule and shoot whatever stage your active pools are at, which over a month covers every phase across the jobs.

A Gilbert homeowner has three pool bids on the table, and all three are from companies within ten miles.

Twilight and the drone

Two decisions get made on every Gilbert pool. The drone flies on every visit, because a walled yard cannot be shown from the ground and the overhead is the frame that shows the shape, the deck and the house together. The twilight set is scheduled, not squeezed in: a thirty-minute window after sunset with the water on, the lights on and the deck cleared. West-facing yards get the sky; east-facing yards get the lit house behind the water. We plan the window around the yard's direction and your plaster and fill date.

What a pool project produces

The same visit, phase by phase. Shell and steel, the finished pool in daylight, and the finished pool at twilight, with aerials from each visit and a 60 to 90 second film cut from all of them. These frames are from East Valley and north Valley builds; your Gilbert pools get the same set.

Finished, twilight
  • Dig and layout. The transformation baseline, from the ground and the air.
  • Steel and gunite. The day the shape appears, with the crew in frame.
  • Tile, coping, decking. The detail a homeowner cannot judge from across the yard.
  • Finished, at the right hour. Daylight for the website, twilight for everything else.
  • The film. 60 to 90 seconds cut from the visits we already made.

Flying over pools in Gilbert

Most of Gilbert is open airspace and we fly without extra paperwork. The southeast corner of town, toward Queen Creek and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, sits under Gateway's airspace, so pools there get an FAA authorization filed before the visit, usually with a ceiling that still allows the overhead. We check the airspace for every address and file authorization where it is needed. Over a pool the drone works low and close, so the frames that matter are rarely affected by a ceiling. More on working in town is on our Gilbert page.

Questions from Gilbert pool builders

Is there a travel fee for Gilbert pools?

No. Our office is here, so there is no travel fee on a content day, a project or a plan visit. Most Gilbert addresses are under twenty minutes from us.

How many Gilbert pools fit in one visit?

Up to four addresses in a half day, and Gilbert is compact enough that four is realistic. The best visit has four pools at four different stages: a dig, a steel or gunite day, a tile crew and a finished pool for the twilight set.

Do we need the homeowner's permission?

Yes, and it is easiest handled as a line in your construction agreement. We can supply the language. We never publish an address, and we frame out house numbers.

What does the twilight set cost?

On Starter and Growth plans a scheduled twilight set is $150; Pro includes a dusk set each quarter. On a Before and After, the second visit is planned around the finished pool, and when the pool has lighting we schedule it late in the day.
